Fat in the Can

Last Monday, I felt a lump the size of a peanut on the inside of Cosmo’s right rear leg.  I made a bee-line for the phone and made a vet appointment for Coz for Saturday. 

On Tuesday, I couldn’t find the lump again.

On Wedensday, again the lump was elusive!

On Thursday, Ditto!

On Friday, I decided if I couldn’t find the lump that I would cancel the vet appointment because I was obviously delusional and “seeing” things.  I had Cosmo stand up instead of lying down, and the lump was a lot easier to find.

On Saturday, it was off to the vet we went.

I was completely shocked at Cosmo’s behavior in the crate in the car, when we got to the vet’s office, but especially while we waited for our appointment.  Oh.  My.  Goodness.  When did Cosmo turn into a whining, clingy, jumping up on furniture, jumping up on people, searching for treats, spoiled brat?  I couldn’t believe how badly he behaved.  I finally got him to focus, got him to settle down and stop trying to climb up and sit on my shoulders, and it was time for our appointment.

Ah.  The ever elusive peanut.  Even the vet had a time finding the little nugget, but when she did, she looked at me a little impressed that I even found the thing to begin with!  A quick poke with a needle, a slide, a microscopic review of cells, and …

“Everything is fine! No suspect cells at all … that is a fatty limpoma … looks just like Crisco!”

Phew.
