Thrift Shopping on the Treasure Coast
My mom and I went out and visited a couple of the local thrifts yesterday and today. I really didn’t find much of interest until mom said something about a local City run exchange program. You can drop off stuff you don’t want, or shop in their “store” for stuff other people have dropped off. All for free!
I have a good friend that is a pastor in her church, and she goes through stacks and stacks of greeting cards, sympathy cards, birthday cards, and at Christmas, her list is pages and pages long. So, I am always on the lookout for cards for her at a good price. And, darn, if I didn’t hit the mother load today!
The lady at the shop kept encouraging us to take more, so we did. We filled up 8 Publix grocery bags with all kinds of cards .. mostly Christmas. We spent about an hour sorting the cards when we got home and I think Marcy should have a good collection of cards to keep her going for at least a year!
Here are a couple of photos of the donated items. I think this is a great idea! I’m already planning another trip on Thursday so I can go through some of the sewing items. Mom was getting claustrophobic so we didn’t stay too long.
Remember, all of these items have been donated … and are free to anyone that wants them. This place is a treasure trove for a crafter!

We also stopped at the local Habitat for Humanity Resale Shop.
It is a huge shop with lots of furniture and knick-knacks.
Their prices seemed pretty good this time!
